Decisive Sound Records is a digital MP3 netlabel releasing music in a wide variety of musical styles including ambient, dark ambient, glitch, illbient, idm, down tempo, neo-dub, microsound, minimal, abstract, industrial, power electronics, experimental hip-hop, post-rock, soundscapes, and other experimental forms of electronic music.

Originally started in 2005 after his younger brother’s suicide in 2003, A Child’s First Funeral used music to release his emotions which were building over years of manic depression, loneliness, drug addiction, poverty and all-around life anxieties.

“The music I write here serves as the ongoing autobiography of my life as well as a cathartic tool when I’m down and out. Over these few years I’ve written 4 albums and done all my own artwork for each using my own photography as the other creative outlet and working both together with each other to create an audial and visual world of my very own, where I am always welcomed with open arms.” Enjoy our latest release from this upcoming Dark Ambient master!

Audio Organism is the music of Colorado based artist Travers MacMaster. “Finding a Balance” marks the first official release from Travers.

Finding a Balance [aptly titled] introduces us to the style and talents behind Audio Organism with 5 highly diverse original tracks. Through the sonic journey you will discover that 22 year old Travers Macmaster has found his balance with a very unique refreshing style that rarely one could say today is his own. From stuttering and juxtaposed Hip-Hop influenced beats that BANG on top of lush washes of ethereal voices and pads with pop induced leads to moody, atmospheric compositions that create miniature movies for the mind. Unafraid to explore the vast world of sound Travers incorporates unusual elements into his genre-bending arrangements with intricate infusions of dsp’ed accordions, horns, organs, pianos and guitars that stretch, bend, and meld giving his tracks a very visual and organic and emotive quality against the rather tight mechanics of his beats and bass work.


A refreshing approach to sonic electronics devoid of common place cliches found more often than not these days in many of the genres under the vast umbrella of electronic music. Although this is Audio Organism’s first official release into the wild, do not under estimate! This release is filled with exciting experimentation both in approach and technique to sound design and sequencing, and to blending and bending a broad variety of styles, genres, and feelings.

The EP has 7 accompanying remix interpretations of the second track from the release Paradox Process. This second part to your journey into the world of AO will also fail to disappoint you. Again covering a massive swath of styles these mixes will take you from one world to the next. Embodi takes us to an airid and lush landscape within the interior of the heart showing the listener the world of emotion and mood. Contrast that against L.A.M.P.’s hard-hitting and playful experimentations with club pounding beats and synths that could only be described as the metallic voices of the dmt elves singing along. Along with these are other gems by amazing artists. Do not take your eyes or ears off of Audio Organism!

Dyad is a new exciting IDM project from Novosibirsk Russia. His previous release “Artificial Sense” was put out by russian net-label electrosound.ru. For his debut Decisive Sound Records release we decided to use 4 brand new tracks as well as adding some exclusive remixes from the likes of Sleep Clinic, AutoMaton and Syphilis Sauna.

“Feedback” is a refreshing step away from steril idm dsp-scapes giving focus to a more organic life. The general sound of the release has a great deal of mood and atmosphere crafted and built within each track. Overall “Feedback” is a nice breath of diversity in arrangment, mood and atmosphere. Dyad’s sound design has a rawness that harkens back to some of skam records top artists. DSR013 – Sleep Clinic – “Traffek EP”

Traffek I-III was originally recorded in the late summer of ‘05. The idea behind the original tracks on this release was to create 3 tracks using the same samples and kit parameters for all three tracks. In the late 90’s I was using a Roland r8mkII to come up with beats and scratch pad ideas for songs and in time started to like the limitations of the machine you only get so many sounds, and you have basic editing of those sounds, and using the assigned sounds volume control as a makeshift internal mixer, forces you to push the machine in different ways to get variation and character. For Traffek I used an mpc2000xl and took the r8mkII approach 1 kit program to limit the options and the mpc’s internal mixer do one take improv recordings and see what came about.

I was curious to see/hear the unusual [for me] results of the recording session interpreted by some of the artists that have inspired me greatly since my new beginnings here in LA. The results of the mixes that I got back were overwhelming. It has been a great honor to receive the mixes that I got back from the participating artists on this remix EP. maybe it was all the coil I was listening to at the time opening up some enochian ethernet between us all, or maybe it was all the vodka and whiskey? One can never be too sure. But, these remixes couldn’t capture the feelings, moods, and daydreams that filled my head and space over the past year any more accurately. thank you. – Jeff Swearengin of Sleep Clinic

Lucid Reflections is the project of photographer, graphic designer and musician Ronny Theeuwes. The name comes from Ronny’s fascination with lucid dreaming. Lucid dreaming means dreaming while knowing that you are dreaming. The term was coined by Frederik van Eeden who used the word “lucid” in the sense of mental clarity. Lucidity usually begins in the midst of a dream when the dreamer realizes that the experience is not occurring in physical reality, but is a dream.

Lucid Reflections first album on Decisive Sound is a special one. We not only offer you the album but also a special bonus remix release containing contributions from Sleep Clinic, R[Zero], Replogen, Brundly Fly and Lucid Reflections.

Described by some as power noise or power violence. Abrasive & sinister is the way of Tenticular Genocide, masters of the nightmare soundscapes. They have no direct influences in the realm of music or noise but draw influence from pop culture. Particularly H.P. Lovecraft, serial killers and horror movies.

Tenticular Genocide’s first release “Octopus Vulgaris” for Decisive Sound contains some brand new exclusive tracks as well as a couple of classics that never got distributed in mass. There is also a song recorded by the late Captain Cephalopod entitled “Harbinger of Your Demise.” And of course you can’t forget the killer tribute to the 16 bit Nintendo Entertainment System, “Pixelated Nightmare.” Play it loud!
